Urgent! - Motherboard capacitors damaged during delivery
While shipping my PC likely caused some damage, it appears the PSU landed on the bottom of the motherboard and damaged two capacitors, bending several pins. In the photo they look bent, but both still grip one pin; the other is clearly broken when viewed sideways.
1. These capacitors are located near two USB ports I don’t use. Is it safe to start my PC without them?
2. I’m thinking about swapping them out, but I have no idea where to buy them. One listing mentions M 86V, 560, 6.3V and another M 86U, 560, 6.3V. If I search for 560uF and 6.3V capacitors on Digikey, I only find ones with a minimum diameter of 8mm. These seem to be 6mm through-hole aluminum electrolytic types.
Extra details: My motherboard is the MSI X470 Gaming Pro Carbon, and I’m based in Japan.
Both components remain linked via a single pin, yet the second part appears clearly detached when viewed from the side.
Visit an online store and have them reattach the pin without needing a replacement.
Head over there, they’ll understand what to do. For now, it’s safe to use the motherboard, but first make sure you bend or straighten the USB header pins so they don’t touch each other. If you skip the USB header entirely, everything should work fine. Those caps are just for the headers.
