Yesterday I had some free time to revisit this problem. I began adjusting my router configurations since I’ve noticed speed issues can stem from "channel" and "channel width" settings. I experimented by switching modes repeatedly during speed tests, eventually breaking my router’s Wi-Fi completely. Both access points (2 and 5 GHz) were lost, and restarting the router didn’t help. Eventually, I reset everything to factory settings, which erased all ISP passwords and other configurations. After more than an hour of research on self-reconfiguration, I managed to get it working again, though now I’m using a different router and passwords. I suspect I may have taken control of my ISP’s router with my own device and credentials. I plan to revert the same passwords I received initially to prevent confusion for the ISP staff. What I might have lost is the remote management feature, as it could be needed for remote access from their headquarters. From a troubleshooting perspective, it seems changing Wi-Fi settings wasn’t the issue—my other devices still worked fine. Also, despite the reset, my upload speed remains around 20-30 Mbps instead of the 550 Mbps others experienced. Possibly the real cause lies in software-level problems, such as drivers or network settings.

I noticed a change in my upload performance depending on the operating system state. Initially, the speed was acceptable over Ethernet while connected via an ethernet cable. However, after switching to safe mode with networking, the speed dropped significantly compared to Wi-Fi. This suggests the issue isn't related to hardware or driver problems. It might be connected to third-party applications or a firewall. I can't enable WiFi during safe mode, but I expect it should work fine then. I plan to compare the behavior in clean boot to further identify the cause. I'll share my observations once I have more data.

The problem might still stem from an OS issue, since it operates with a limited background process list in safe mode. It’s unlikely the firewall is blocking anything, as normal traffic would still pass. My thought is there are numerous spyware or telemetry settings enabled by default in Windows. Are you using the standard Windows version or have you installed tools like ShutUp10 or Spybot to reduce those concerns?

Hello, Radium_Angel. I’m checking the stock and ensuring the 100% legal copy of Win10 Home is installed. I’ve also followed Jayz’s guidance on preventing any default setup issues (from 07:57). I believe this means I shouldn’t be facing such problems now.

I don’t have 23 minutes to watch his video, so I’ll need to guess it’s correct. That’s a big leap—I should probably check later. When I can spare time, I’ll look over it and give you feedback or shift to other options.
