I don’t understand much about the GPU, but you’re right—playing at 480p to aim for 144fps in Fortnite is tough. Only 90–100 FPS comes out, even with a CPU running at 10%.

I think it might be due to your old FirePro GPU. In fact, nothing makes sense until it’s thrown away.
