Hello, I just upgraded my HP Z400 Workstation to an Intel Xeon X5675 CPU. The motherboard is locked, but I believed because my CPU multiplier is unlocked I could overclock a bit with software. I tried Throttlestop and an older version of Intel XTU, but neither allowed any adjustments. So, can I still overclock using software?

Are you utilizing every core? For instance, with my Z840 here, the CPU doesn't reach its full turbo boost when all cores are active. This is typical—the boost frequency on the box and Intel's site reflects the maximum a single core can achieve, but it operates at a reduced speed when multiple cores are engaged.

Can you post a ThrottleStop TRL screenshot? The X CPUs are usually locked. Here is some W series overclocking on a HP400.
