Installed a brand new cable for my PC using both the Ethernet I rely on and the others in the house. No luck.

I checked the port I use with my laptop. It provides full speeds.

Consider refreshing your PC's Ethernet drivers, it could provide some improvement

The new setup with the laptop appears to work, but the router might not see the MAC address of the PC's network card. The router could also be in modem mode, which affects which outputs are active. An update to the PC configuration might be necessary.

Did you mean a board with two RJ45 ports, yet both are turned on?

It seems unclear what you're referring to. So far, no new setup has been made. All actions were handled by the ISP, and my connection speeds have been inconsistent since then. The router might be operating in modem mode—checking that later.

The most effective method to check connection speed is by alternating between devices connected on the same Ethernet cable; this verifies signal accuracy. Turning off the Modem mode is the only way to ensure the router has all outputs active. If both devices were connected simultaneously and one functions while the other doesn’t, it indicates Modem Mode is enabled. The same cable on both ends and differing speeds usually point to a machine-specific problem.

You successfully increased performance on your laptop. It appears modem mode isn't turning off easily on your router, but you'll continue investigating.

It looks like Rickeo understands the technical side; maybe we should ease things down and let him join in.
