There’s no modem mode in a FiOS installation. Most concepts from cable or coax internet don’t apply here, since there isn’t a traditional modem. The setup mainly uses a router instead. The ONT connects your fiber to a copper jack, which then feeds into the router. This setup doesn’t involve routing or NAT—just a straightforward media converter. The router handles the public IP, DHCP, and DNS for your local network. If your laptop is underperforming, the issue might be with your PC’s network card. You could try setting up local file sharing to test if the problem lies there.

I successfully completed a file transfer using the Windows share. Both machines' SSDs were utilized without issues, and the process ran via Ethernet. The speed reached around 35 MB/s, which I think is a reasonable limit for the quantum router.

It functions like a gigabit switch in that case, allowing you to move data at full gigabit rates without issues. Your output still indicates an issue with your PC, especially its NIC.

I was just testing it out. I'll look up any problems with my integrated Ethernet ports online.
