You're using Windows 7 Ultimate on an X32-bit system with 16 GB RAM, but only 4 GB is available for use. You're considering upgrading to a 64-bit version by installing a disk, but you have a full edition Windows.

Sure, I understand the distinction between 32-bit and 64-bit systems. Do you own a 64-bit processor?

You're running an Intel Core i5-4440, which is a 32-bit processor. To confirm it's a 64-bit CPU, you can check the system information in BIOS or use software like Task Manager or a hardware diagnostic tool.

He possesses 16GB of RAM. To my knowledge, no system can run smoothly with that amount while using a 32-bit processor. An LGA775 chipset could work, though I’m very unlikely to believe it.

Confidence is 64-bit. Is the memory set up properly? With four sticks, are they identical or do the manufacturers differ in brand or frequency? Great observation @ tmcclelland455

Launch your machine and enter the BIOS settings. Verify the recognized RAM amount and confirm the clock speed matches 1666Mhz.

Get a 64-bit version. 32-bit systems can't handle more than 4GB of memory, which means you're using up about 12GB of your RAM. Since you purchased 16GB, you probably don't want to lose three-quarters of it. Format the drive and install the 64-bit operating system.
