He possesses 16GB of RAM. To my knowledge, no system can run smoothly with that amount while using a 32-bit processor. An LGA775 chipset could work, though I’m very unlikely to believe it.

Confidence is 64-bit. Is the memory set up properly? With four sticks, are they identical or do the manufacturers differ in brand or frequency? Great observation @ tmcclelland455

Yes, everything is set up properly. 1600 mhgz with all four slots occupied.

Get a 64-bit version. 32-bit systems can't handle more than 4GB of memory, which means you're using up about 12GB of your RAM. Since you purchased 16GB, you probably don't want to lose three-quarters of it. Format the drive and install the 64-bit operating system.
