Hello, everyone! I'm working on upgrading my RAM but facing some problems. I purchased a set of two 16GB DDR4 modules from Kingston HyperX Renegade, but my PC only runs smoothly when using the XMP profile at 3000MHz. Previously, I had a similar kit with two 8GB units that performed well. Should I just send back the old kit and get something like 3200MHz/CL16? Also, does RAM speed really impact performance so much? Thanks!

Frequency and response time are crucial for Ryzen processors. Reaching 3600MHz is near the peak performance boost achievable without major adjustments like FCLK changes. 3200MHz remains a solid option, but I expect you can easily upgrade your RAM there with a small overclock. Raising the voltage on the RAM should significantly improve results.

He can just change the cas latency to 18 to see if it helps otherwise no point in getting 3600 cl18’s

Beyond cost reductions, the price difference between 3600c16 and 3600c18 is significant, especially when performance isn't noticeably better. If you're only saving $15 or less and there are no critical issues for the same price, stick with it unless it has serious problems such as Samsung M die defects. For models with a 16Gb RAM, those are definitely worth keeping. Consider recording a video of the bootloader to check the RAM information.
