Hello, your current setup uses a 3080 Ti CPU with an R5 5600X and DDR4 RAM. If you want to upgrade to a Ryzen 7000 series, consider whether you need a new motherboard and RAM. Alternatively, you could opt for a 5800X3D while keeping your existing board and RAM.

You'd struggle to find a compatible Ryzen 7000 board with a 5600x or even DDR5 support on an older DDR4 platform

I understand differently, though they have 6000 units. They're just mobile versions only. https://cpuninja.com/amd-ryzen-6000-series/

Sure, I understand. The motherboard and RAM wouldn't fit with my current CPU. I was wondering if upgrading to the 7000 series would be more beneficial than getting a 5800X3D. Also, thanks for noticing they didn't mention the 6000 series.

You're asking why you need to upgrade a 5600x? It seems like you're frustrated about its current performance.

It seems you're considering upgrading, but maybe you can get a good price on the 5800x3d. Next-gen options might be worth it. Why are you pushing for an upgrade? The 5600 works just fine too.

The 5600X won’t cause a bottleneck for a 4090 on 1080p, as there will always be a CPU limitation.

I've been experiencing some problems where it's slowing everything down, which is really frustrating

The 5800x3d offers great value for money in gaming today... Pricing for these motherboards, especially with DDR5, isn't justified. It might be better if they introduce something like the 7800X3D later, paired with more affordable boards, but right now it feels like a waste of effort.
