It’s unlikely you’ll need low-res CPU heavy games unless your system is running out of resources.

Are you certain it's the bottleneck? You seem to be assuming the CPU is the issue right away. Can you provide more details? Which games or applications are experiencing CPU slowdowns? Edit: Which Forza, Motorsport, Horizon titles are affected?

GTA V demands a powerful processor. Forza isn't much of a challenge, but upgrading your CPU isn't worth the cost.

Have you checked for thermal throttling? Which B550 model are we considering? Memory matters too—RAM speed and capacity can really impact performance. The Ryzen 5000 might struggle with slower RAM or single-channel configurations. And for the game selection, are we discussing motorsport 5 or Horizon 5? They’re quite different experiences. msi b550 a pro uses Corsair Vengeance 3200MHz RAM. From what I know, it should work well since I have a 360mm NZXT CPU cooler.

You haven't explored thermals. Consider installing hwinfo64 and running it in the background while gaming to observe the data. Check the CPU clock speed to detect throttling. I recently set up a PC with a 5600X and it kept around 4.3-4.5 GHz across most cores during demanding games. Performance varied depending on the game, especially CPU-heavy titles. You'll need to investigate further. Just note: I've been playing FH5 for a few months now—it's noticeably more CPU-intensive than expected, though it still runs smoothly on my 3800X and 3080. At MAX settings in 1440p, the lowest FPS I've seen is about 85-90. The absence of two cores shouldn't be a major concern.

I rely on MSI Afterburner for CPU temperature tracking, but it stays under 75°C during long gaming sessions
