Man... I assumed it would have been the opposite. DDR5 should be easily available next year because Alder Lake will launch it around two months in late 2021, though early stock might be limited and there could be some initial problems before full production starts.
It's similar to asking if switching from Labourghini Hurriccane to Aventador makes sense. People who own the FX-8120 usually feel satisfied with their setup.

It makes you think your gear isn't up to the job anymore, lol. I guess my EVGA 3090 FTW3 should work fine without the resizable bar turned on? I also have 32 GB Corsair Dominator RAM—love it! If DDR5 hits, maybe I'll upgrade to something similar or G.Skill Tridents.
It's tough to say anything definite after getting the 3090... With the 2080 it worked well. The 3090 seems to struggle with most games now. The Crysis Remastered pushed this card to its limits.
I wouldn't call it a "beast," but there aren't many choices that would provide a substantial enough improvement to justify the replacement cost right now. The 10th generation is mainly about incremental changes, while the 11th feels more like a joke. Moving entirely to platforms such as the 5900X or 5950X AMD would be a notable jump, requiring an investment of around $800-1000, which doesn't seem worthwhile.
Absolutely, you should get a new Windows version since the 5900x and 5950x won't work with Intel drivers.

Your equipment falls short when it fails to match your requirements. Simply because a newer, more advanced CPU appears isn't enough to make your older model irrelevant.
