He must press it open to find the space for the upgrade, otherwise it’s a dead end.

I've noticed several versions of this laptop available. It's recommended to check them out.

I suggest going with the two 4 GB options you mentioned.

Many models use DDR4, which doesn't match your setup. Check the settings to confirm it's DDR3 or DDR3L.

Also discovered this online: https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/3730...ad+of+DDR3 From my perspective it's fine to swap DDR3 for DDR3L but I'm keen to confirm

Open CPU-Z, switch to the SPD tab, verify if it supports 1.35V or 1.5V. Avoid mixing DDR3 and DDR3L modules as they might not work together. No assurances provided. Opt for a single 4GB or 8GB stick if you're on a tighter budget, or keep using your existing one if feasible.

Could be a different identifier, possibly DDR3 instead of DD3L.

It operates at 1.35 volts. Also, I’m not sure if I mentioned this before, but it looks like you’re considering purchasing either a matching stick, two 4GB sticks, or one 8GB stick—all of which seem reasonably priced.
