Intriguing collection of references. However, most of what was shared concerns speculative solutions and past fixes. The mandatory update discussion seems unrelated to the core subject, and this is well understood. Many users consistently avoid any OS updates, even Service Packs, driven by the belief: "It functions, leave it alone." This mindset creates significant security risks. Numerous systems remain vulnerable due to unresolved vulnerabilities that have existed for a long time, turning devices into compromised machines. These systems can be remotely manipulated to carry out attacks, allowing adversaries to execute DDOS assaults or breach organizational security—often without the owner realizing anything is amiss. Keeping your system current is essential.

Microsoft adheres to regulations just like any business. When a legitimate warrant is provided, the firm must act promptly or face legal consequences for hindering justice. All organizations must meet these requirements. Laws vary by nation, so global companies must follow each country's rules. Companies such as Google, Microsoft, and Apple have acknowledged that numerous security vulnerabilities stemming from NSA involvement have been resolved (provided you kept your software updated).

It doesn't matter if they're forced to hide something under the guise of NSA involvement—it's a major security weakness.

Nothing is uncertain, most changes were kept secret. Mandatory updates relate directly to the subject at hand. It's really frustrating and might stop people from installing Windows 10. That’s not accurate—many chose not to update because it was difficult. Forcing updates isn’t fair, especially when security risks exist. There are vulnerabilities in Windows, but they don’t enable a RAT unless users take risky actions. You’re referring to botnets, which often stem from deliberate backdoors in Windows. The biggest concern is that you dismiss entire links as just a decorative list. This raises serious privacy and security worries, something Microsoft seems to enable. Both my parents work at Microsoft, and they both express their disappointment with the direction the company is heading, highlighting the intentional flaws they’ve noticed.
