Therefore it should assist. However, if you're comfortable with a 256GB drive, I'd opt for a quality SSD instead, depending on your budget. I haven't looked into the cost of Intel Optane yet... it really depends on that. Just remember Optane won't instantly convert your 1TB HDD into an SSD.
