Hi everyone, I'm trying to revert from Windows 10 back to Windows 7 because it feels more stable. I have a valid 7 key, but my connection is so slow that I don't want to re-download everything. Is there a way to perform this downgrade directly through the OS without having to restart or reinstall? Also, are there any steps to go from Windows 10 back to Windows 7 in reverse? Thanks in advance, James.

There isn't any official way I'm aware of. Microsoft doesn't encourage people to do that, which is why they haven't provided an alternative. I completely understand though; I think Windows 7 is the better operating system.

Yes, there is an alternative method from a third-party source.

When moving from version 7 to 10, a backup and recovery choice should appear in the settings menu. Navigate to settings, select update and security, and look for the backup or restore option there.

The official procedure works for about 30 days following an upgrade.

Only accessible when conditions are met: A) it isn't turned off, B) within 30 days post-update, and C) you've upgraded from an older OS.

You definitely want to start over. Changing versions frequently may cause issues.

The sole choice would be to either get the Win 7 ISO file or employ an installation disk or USB drive. The Win 10 setup doesn't include Win 7 components since these are two distinct operating systems.
