I received a new Corasir aio for my birthday. I was installing it yesterday but while trying to access the cooler, I removed the CPU. The thermal paste had dried out completely, causing the CPU to fall out of its socket along with the cooler. I had three bent pins on the CPU edge and carefully straightened them using a sharp knife. After a few minutes, I managed to fix the pins and the CPU fit back into the socket. When I powered on my PC, the RGB lighting turned on, but pressing the power button didn’t do anything—even when I tried to short the pins. I’m unsure if the problem is with the CPU or the motherboard, as this seems like an issue that could arise from either side. I’d appreciate any advice on how to further diagnose the situation. Thanks ahead of time.

Yes, many motherboards include diagnostic LEDs that indicate system status or errors.

Check if the board powers up and note the three pins you bent. Provide a photo or diagram indicating the bent pins. Specify the AMD CPU model you're using.

It seems the device isn't powering on, which means the diagnostics won't display any results.

My Ryzen 7 3700X has three pins in the upper right corner. I plan to attempt a boot without the CPU tomorrow since I'm not home today (UTC+01:00).

Oh, your CPU is damaged too—just like any other component would be visible if something else failed.

We count from left to right, identifying the rows. The three pins in the top-right corner are the final ones on rows 1, 2, and 3.

It doesn't power up at all. Usually the LEDs also display a broken CPU error.

Remove the CPU and verify every pin connection. Issues could stem from poor contact, damaged pins, or missed connections.

Yes, I can't really find a pinout online so I have no clue what they are for.
