This update didn’t alter the result, yet you’ve observed your connection speed listed as perfect at 10/10 in Windows settings.

Check and see if there is an Update on your BIOS. if so, I would update it. Also, when you are in your BIOS. Look around and see if there is an option for like "Energy Efficient mode" or like a low power mode, for the Network adapter.

Your BIOS is up to date, but it doesn’t offer a low-power setting or comparable feature within the BIOS interface.

No, I don't recall any issues before the MSI Gaming Lan installation.

I saved the Gaming LAN application to attempt a repair after observing the issue.

Do you know about a Linux Live USB? You can find guidance here: https://tutorials.ubuntu.com/tutorial/tu...-windows#0. I’d make a disk, start Linux and check if the issue appears there. If it does, your port might be faulty. If not, I’d attempt a fresh Windows install on the PC and avoid installing any MSI tools—just add the Intel Ethernet driver.

It was also restricted to 10mbps both ways, indicating a hardware issue on the motherboard.

You should choose either the MSI support service or buy a PCIe network card or USB adapter as alternatives.

He’s a friend of his, but he’s still having issues with the PCIe network adapter. This time there’s no connection at all.

I bought a network card, yet the problem persists because it appears to have its own issues. The card often fails to recognize a connected cable. When detected, the internet shows as "Unidentified network - No internet." It looks like an IP configuration problem based on the diagnostics I ran. I've reset related settings and even manually adjusted the IP settings, but they revert to automatic after saving attempts.
