Hello! I’m considering upgrading to an R7 5800X3D and currently own an ASUS TUF B450M Plus gaming rig. The BIOS version is 0601 - AMD AGESA PinnaclePI-AM4 1.0.0.6. I have an R5 2600 and am a bit nervous about updating the BIOS, not sure which method is safest. The ASUS site lists several options, but I want to make sure I’m doing it right before buying the CPU. Thanks for your help! Much love <3

Watch the YouTube video and see how it unfolds. It turns out to be less intimidating than expected.

Unfortunately I don’t have a USB drive. If needed, I could look into alternative ways to transfer data safely.

What operating system are you running? If your version includes BitLocker, disable it before upgrading the BIOS. Otherwise, the upgrade might activate BitLocker and lock you out unless you remember the required code.

I wasn't aware of that, thank you. I'm using Windows 10 Pro and haven't enabled BitLocker yet, but I'll look into it before proceeding.

Launch the command prompt with admin privileges and run manage-bde -status to verify its status.

The BIOS can be updated via the internet directly on the motherboard, within its own settings.

I located these guidelines from Asus' website. The file name indicates an E13571 BIOS update version for EM V4.
