I really enjoy Kali and Ubuntu, didn’t go overboard with other distributions except Raspberry Pi
I wish for a pure Linux setup again, though that won’t be my goal for my HTPC, main machine, or Surface Pro. My older Acer laptop is planned to run Ubuntu or Xubuntu after replacing an SSD, but that’s not high on my list.
I completely support the idea that Windows is straightforward and convenient (which explains its popularity). Yet, dismissing Linux entirely would be shortsighted, especially for those seeking more advanced options. Ubuntu and its paid counterpart (Red Hat) stand out as strong choices, offering features similar to Microsoft Word and being popular web browsers. Many students rely on Chromebooks for the same reasons. Linux is becoming a solid alternative, though it isn't always a perfect substitute in every situation. Gaming is rapidly gaining traction as a viable platform, driven by initiatives like Valve’s efforts and backed by a growing community of indie developers using tools such as Unity that support Linux development.
