Unusual AMD 3000 performance tweaks Behavior patterns during overclocking
For two years now, I've been using a Ryzen 5 3600 non x, Tuf X570-Pro board, GTX 1060 turbo, Vengeance 3200mhz 32gb(4x8), and RM750. I've been tweaking the settings from the start and have experienced some odd changes during my overclocking journey. Luckily, my CPU performed well, reaching 4.2ghz all cores at 1.31 volts, 4.375ghz at 2.325 volts, 2core 4.4ghz at 1.334 volts, and a single core up to 4.5ghz on Windows 10. I stopped pushing beyond 4.2ghz because some apps would crash even when the system was fine. Interestingly, on PopOS I managed 4.2ghz all cores at just 1.22 volts—stable and smooth, allowing me to run an 8k 3000 sample cycles without issues. Can anyone clarify this significant difference?
I’m really not in the mood to test this, but I totally get that Windows tends to have more bloat. Thanks!
