I'm having some issues with my unRAID NAS. It started working fine yesterday, but after a restart it stopped functioning properly through the web UI. When I connected a monitor with a new IP address, the site failed to load. It looks like the server is running but showing an IP instead of an error. I've tried several fixes—pinging the IP, changing the IP manually, using different browsers, clearing cache, and even removing network settings—but nothing resolved it. The boot drive is mounted correctly and files appear normal, so the problem might be with the network configuration. I'm unsure how to lock in a static IP or access the UI now.
Attempt to launch the GUI and check if you can reach the settings panel to assign a fixed IP address. Nevertheless, from my perspective, the more effective method for static IPs is to configure DHCP reservations on your router.
Choose to configure the server directly on the device rather than relying on DHCP reservations. Ensure it isn't part of the DHCP server's range. This prevents connectivity issues if the server itself fails. Start with GUI settings, assign a static IP address, and verify everything functions correctly.
Took some time because I only have one mouse, so I had to switch often. Identified the main issue but haven’t found a fix yet. The server seems to lack internet, as shown by the GUI (I booted in GUI mode). I verified this by opening a browser on the server to load Google, but there was no connection. Everything else had internet and the server was connected via Ethernet cable through powerline. How could it have an IP without a connection? I logged into my router and saw only my phone and main PC listed—no other devices. Tried a different port but had no success. I didn’t bother with DHCP or static IP settings right now since getting online is the priority.
Connected my laptop to the Ethernet port your server uses. It functions and provides internet access. I’m unsure why the server isn’t establishing a connection. It wasn’t configured with an IP address, so it automatically assigned one at startup. The router isn’t detecting the device either, meaning no further settings can be adjusted there.
OP didn't specify manually configuring an IP address. If it's not assigned (like DHCP), it won't receive an IP unless another source provides it. If it's not the primary router, there might be a secondary DHCP server on the network. What IP number is assigned? Does it match the rest of your setup?
