Check the updates for Ubuntu. Visit the security page at the provided link and follow the instructions to install the latest patches. Alternatively, use the software center or run the command `sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade` in the terminal.

I noticed no updates available and I’m still stuck on version 4.5.8, which might have a known issue. The patch for this was released in 4.5.8. Appreciate the update!

I'm still checking this out and planning to search on Sunday. As mentioned before, it's not urgent since I've disabled Samba, but I anticipate people might ask about it. I've been suggesting that users mount /home with the noexec flag to stop malware from running from their downloads folder. I'll see if this helps prevent the exploit.
