Unifi Protect displays alerts and information from other users' devices
A Reddit member, SandmaNn42, shared a warning about a Unifi protect camera alert that didn’t match any of their devices and displayed an unfamiliar house. Another user, turnerd10, described opening the remote page to find a UDM Pro not belonging to them. The Ubiquiti account has contacted both parties for clarification. My perspective: I’d turn off remote access to all Unifi consoles until Ubiquiti resolves this issue. It’s unsettling to imagine someone gaining unauthorized network access. The situation has been updated following Unifi's confirmation of the Reddit user's claims. The move to networking has significantly worsened the problem, making it hard for people to trust the information. Multiple users reporting the same issue at once isn't considered a reliable source, especially when they provide screenshots.
Looking for advice on a local-only setup? I’ve configured Home Assistant for notifications now, but I’d love to switch to the standard Protect app.
