The alternative cover can be taken off using my present screwdriver, even though the screws are identical in size; however, the screw for the single M2 slot remains stuck.
By now you probably have a strong dislike for the incorrect screwdriver.
I worked with a comparable board and successfully removed those screws. You might want to use the elastic band method—use a thick one and place it between the screw and the driver. This technique works well for stripped screws. It’s not certain if it will help in your situation, but it could be worth a shot.
