okay so i gave up before seing this so tried open suse on the same machine but i have the same problem, it gets stuck on the opensuse splashscreen and now i have no internet
You can enter console mode by turning off the splash screen. In the grub menu, use tab or press the E key (depending on your system) and switch to edit mode. Locate the line beginning with "kernel" and remove any sections containing "splash" and "quiet." Press F10 to boot. EDIT: ignored, I noticed where he reached the console.
So since the laptop screen isn’t working, I couldn’t check the BIOS to upgrade the OS. I had to install it on a different machine with specs like an i5 7400, 16GB RAM, GTX 1060, and 6GB of ASRock H270M Pro4. I don’t have any other useful details about its configuration.
When you used a driver made for NVIDIA, it might be the issue. Simply delete those files using sudo apt-get purge nvidia-current
It might be the issue I kept attempting to install the Intel drivers while leaving the Nvidia settings unchanged. I’ll try again this evening.
