You have a 120GB SSD and a 4TB HDD, running Windows. You're wondering if you can simulate a virtual mount of your desktop on the HDD, so it feels like it's on the drive while keeping the SSD for quick access. If you're using the SSD heavily, this setup makes sense.
You can also handle this for any folders in your user directory. It’s a good idea to do this for your photo and download folders if you rely on them often. I usually keep everything outside the boot drive, so when I reinstall Windows (every 4-6 months), I don’t need to back anything up because none of my files are stored on the drive being wiped.
