Windowx XP ranks as top and bottom, Windows 8 works fine, Windows 7 is decent though not great, Windows Vista is functional, and Windows 10 seems okay.

DOS was pretty basic—no real graphical interface to speak of. It wasn’t much better than the command-line shell.

I don’t really understand what you’re asking. You seem to be wondering about the feasibility of running an older operating system like Windows 2000 on a modern gaming PC while still playing games that work well with Windows 10.

I must seem odd since I never faced a serious issue with Windows. I even tried Windows Me for a couple of weeks without trouble, though I won’t ignore the claim that it’s terrible. Still, I’m ready to switch to Windows XP.

I faced only a few issues with Windows 10 across more than five machines. I could talk about all the problems with Windows 7 for hours, but Windows 8/8.1 is a really bad operating system that forced me to learn even the simplest things (like how to open the file explorer).

Yes, you can adjust compatibility settings to support newer Windows versions on older operating systems like Windows 95 or 98.
