Installer problems "Unable to launch ... datagen.exe" – fix: follow these steps – installer should start, wait for the error, cancel if needed, restart, ensure datagen.exe is present, then continue. Important: protect datagen.exe with properties and proceed.
If you encounter in-game issues like technical glitches or DirectX errors, try these options:
1. Navigate to your datagen folder and copy all files.
2. Restart the installation and wait for it to request CD2.
3. Make sure datagen.exe is write-protected via properties.
4. If that doesn’t work, download a no-CD patch.

For a fun twist, adjust the "MaxParticleCount" to 999999 and see what happens—possibly irreversible damage or something wild. Make sure your GPU can handle the 2003 graphics!

I recall the zero hour multiplayer sessions, where every match often brought three players joining. Thanks to my fast connection—200 kb/s and a low ping—I experienced intense matches at times, but also faced some frustrating moments due to glitch abuse. The scud glitch would reload the superweapon in about ten seconds after firing. I attempted some changes and private servers after the main ones shut down. Even though it was a while ago, there were very few players online, and those who joined were mostly in private rooms. You needed to build enough turrets to fire at them from a cliff, as they couldn't cross the entire canyon without getting caught. It was quite an engaging experience, though it consumed a lot of time.
I mainly used those kinds of maps in the original StarCraft, I had no idea they were created for C&C generals.
