It's true. Most games rely on 4 cores or fewer, so adding more powerful cores doesn't always help. Better performance comes from having more powerful cores, not just higher utilization. Even if the CPU isn't running at full capacity, it can still be a limiting factor.

It remains a popular title, a solid choice if you consider it. In the near future, dual-core processors won’t be rare, and 6-core models will become standard. I hope AMD would invent a way to counter hyperthreading—combining cores for low-thread tasks while still delivering strong performance. That would be fascinating!

Having four cores twice as powerful as eight regular ones wouldn't improve performance in an 8-core optimized game. If it did, one strong core would likely have remained popular longer.
