It might be a Windows update. Svchost is a broad service, sometimes related to networking. It could involve Windows Update, Superfetch, BITS, or themes. I’d probably go with downloading updates and increasing RAM usage.

Recent changes now store downloads in RAM rather than saving them to the hard drive. This helps speed things up, especially with big updates like 200MB.

The issue surfaced recently, and I discovered a quick solution. The Windows site didn’t list the updates clearly, so I just let the computer sit until it stopped working. My latest updates have resolved this problem (or at least it’s gone now).
