Hello there. Your computer has been performing well until recently, but now it’s slowing down significantly. I initially suspected a virus, though your antivirus reports no issues. After checking Task Manager, I noticed SVCHost.exe is consuming over ten times the usual memory. With 8 GB of DDR3 1600 RAM, about 79% is being used. It’s now so slow that typing feels laborious. Any advice or assistance would be really helpful. Thanks!
Sure, you can right-click to locate it. Let me know if you need further help!
its a windows process you should not stop it if its using that much ram that either means something is updating itself or there is an issue with the OS the best solution is to leave it for a while, restart, and see if its stopped
Wow, this information can be helpful for identifying malware. You can check its origin to see if it's associated with any malicious activity. @AlwaysFSX
I restarted and it’s definitely consuming much less RAM, though still a notable amount. When idle with just one tab of Google Chrome open, I’m using around 58% RAM, which is above the usual level. SVStream is utilizing roughly a third of its previous RAM usage.
