It's true, even a basic i3 can handle them with integrated graphics, but there might be reasons you're not satisfied.
Generally, most games work well at around 30 frames per second but need some tweaking of settings. For instance, I see better performance on ultra settings compared to high, and I didn’t lose any frames when switching from 1080p to 1440p. Running the CPU at higher speeds can be beneficial since Arma and Dayz don’t fully utilize multi-core processing.
you'll hit around 20 fps in busy urban areas during fierce battles but reach 60 in open wilderness. it all comes down to the map and your internet speed.
20 frames per second feels quite slow, likely causing noticeable lag in most applications.
varies by game, but King of the Hill full server runs at 20-40 FPS Wasteland full server – around 25 FPS in towns with lots of players, otherwise 30-60 (on my server). Battleroyale, breaking point, Epoch work well. Performance hits 50-80 FPS with an OC on an i5; see the guide here: http://wiki.day0.com.au/ArmA_3_Performan...ings_Guide
