It could be worth trying, since it’s free. However, I’m really unsure it would work well on an older processor—it tends to struggle with them. My brothers’ Sandybridge Pentium was pushed to its limits, which makes it a high-end chip compared to that.

My PC uses an i7 2600 and a GTX 550. At 1080p with lowest settings, I only manage 20-25 frames per second during battles.

Planetside 2 struggles with just 4GB RAM; even an i5 is heavily taxed, using up about 80%. It might work if you're okay with 20 frames per second at the lowest quality.

It isn't my computer—it's my cousin's, and he put it together. There could be a valid reason for installing Windows 7 32-bit; his CPU might not support 64-bit.

You should likely be able to do this. Just attempt installation and start the program. Planetside 2 puts a strain on the CPU more than the GPU, so if it works, you’ll need to lower all settings.
