This new HP laptop is completely useless.
due to a housefire referenced in the first thread, I purchased a new laptop.
it’s an HP model featuring a Ryzen 5 7520U processor and Radeon graphics.
it comes with 16GB of RAM and either a 1TB SSD or NVMe drive, though the storage type is unclear.
initially, Windows 11 came out of the box sluggish and required frequent resets.
i thought it was just Windows and didn’t worry much because i planned to install Linux.
usually, installing an elementary OS was straightforward without issues.
however, after a few attempts, i managed to get Debian 12 running on my gaming PC, which made me want to try it on this laptop as well.
in short, Windows became completely unstable during the Debian installation, erasing everything and making it impossible to reset or return for a refund.
now it also resets itself and freezes just as often when using elementary OS, even though Debian never actually installed there.
what options do I have with this device?
i could reinstall Windows and see if they notice i did so before returning it.
or is there any chance to fix it?
