It's normal when the RAM isn't in the motherboard's QVL for a Ryzen 2000 CPU; downclocking to around 2800 is often necessary. If it runs smoothly at 2933, you won't worry much, as you'll still get about 95% of the performance compared to a 3200. Achieving at least 2800 is a significant improvement for that CPU. This should provide a good performance boost over the older 2400 you mentioned.
Check all available BIOS updates, beginning with the newest versions and moving backward until a compatible option appears.
