I haven’t adjusted any other options, even after applying the best settings. It still shows two failure points before entering safe mode, though it doesn’t actually crash under defaults—it’s configured for two. The boot times are extremely short, often just a few seconds after powering up.
We’re missing something important. I can’t access the bios on my board for ideas since I removed it for this month’s competition. Could you provide some bios screenshots? Please make sure to use settings that work, and I’ll post them right away.
I believe the solution lies in the OPs update notes. The change from around 120-140fps to about 30-40 today suggests something beyond just a RAM issue or a simple Windows update. If your RAM was stable at 2133 MHz, it shouldn’t drop hundreds of FPS compared to 3600 regardless of timing. This points to another system component affecting the RAM and preventing it from running in its XMP profiles. It could even be related to power—make sure all your motherboard power cables are securely connected. A 100fps drop seems unlikely due to slower RAM alone, but whatever caused that might also be causing the RAM problems.
I've included the "screenshots" (sorry about the resolution). The optimized defaults are working well, along with the 2400Mhz clock you mentioned. I should note that I'm now achieving better frames than before, though still in the 60-80 range compared to my previous 120-140. It's unclear if this is due to faster memory speeds—just checked all PSU cables and they all seem solid.
Check the overclock failure count in the mem. That's what I was referring to. The default is 3, but it seems set to 2 by mistake? Uploaded to Windows, let's view a CPU-Z memory and SPD tab. I see a newer BIOS version, though it claims better performance. It might be worth clearing the CMOS and updating the BIOS. And using F12 to save screenshots to a USB stick is handy so you don't need a camera or phone.
I was checking it out. I’ll adjust the volume manually. I’ve included cpu-z screenshots at 2400Mhz. I believe it was around 15-15 at optimized defaults with 2133Mhz. I can also send those if that’s useful. I’ll update the BIOS (though I’m not sure how new it is). Thanks for the tip about the screenshots—I should have paid more attention to the hotkeys.
