Check the official Dreamhack tweet about the situation. It looks like the community's opinion has been expressed clearly. https://twitter.com/DreamHack/status/538516337610747904 Many seem to disapprove of the decision, though some in the comments recognize it as the most just choice possible.
It wasn't the pixel boost that caught attention for Smithzz. The texture glitch was the main issue, along with the immortal bug. According to the rules, boosting pixels is allowed. The problem with fnatic was the same texture glitch—boosting hitboxes doesn’t match what’s there, so he doesn’t get hit even when shooting the model. Update: Team disqualified. Well done everyone! Great work from the fans!
It's included in the game, but why wouldn't they incorporate it?
I think some players and teams have mentioned they would have used it, even though most people found it unpleasant and thought it shouldn’t be included. It clearly wasn’t meant for the game, and Fnatic was waiting two months for teams to report these issues and fix them while improving the maps. Likewise, DreamHack and other events had their own guidelines. These rules exist to keep the game from being influenced by cheating or exploits like Fnatic’s boost. This is Counter-Strike. Success should come from skill, chance, and teamwork—not from the number of game-breaking flaws in the map.
