Check the official Dreamhack tweet about the situation. It looks like the community's opinion has been expressed clearly. https://twitter.com/DreamHack/status/538516337610747904 Many seem to disapprove of the decision, though some in the comments recognize it as the most just choice possible.

It wasn't the pixel boost that caught attention for Smithzz. The texture glitch was the main issue, along with the immortal bug. According to the rules, boosting pixels is allowed. The problem with fnatic was the same texture glitch—boosting hitboxes doesn’t match what’s there, so he doesn’t get hit even when shooting the model. Fnatic lost after the announcement on the DreamHack stream. LDLC advances to the Semifinals, facing Na'Vi. The match was close, winning by just a minute.

This appears to be a strategic communication effort. They should focus on gradual recovery of their public image.

Fat chance of that. The number of idiots who make YouTube videos and comments about Flusha cheating is too damn high. Even Ex-iBP Steel and a couple guys from Cloud9 think he cheats. Hating on Fnatic is the trend right now.

I think the sponsors might be pushing for it. They definitely wouldn’t want a boycott against them.

It's included in the game, but why wouldn't they incorporate it?

I understand. These individuals are the ones capable of applying pressure on Fnatic. Besides that, they have the freedom to act as they see fit. In the end, it's about business—you must satisfy the sponsors.

I think some players and teams have mentioned they would have used it, even though most people found it unpleasant and thought it shouldn’t be included. It clearly wasn’t meant for the game, and Fnatic was waiting two months for teams to report these issues and fix them while improving the maps. Likewise, DreamHack and other events had their own guidelines. These rules exist to keep the game from being influenced by cheating or exploits like Fnatic’s boost. This is Counter-Strike. Success should come from skill, chance, and teamwork—not from the number of game-breaking flaws in the map.
