Reviewed the latest specifications from AMD partners after Lisa Su's presentation. Noticed most X570 boards need either an 8-pin and 4-pin CPU 12V connector or two separate 8-pin 12V connectors. My current 750W PSU only has one 4+4 8-pin 12V port. Seems I’ll need a new power supply with dual 12V rails. Spent time on NewEgg searching for compatible units, but found very few. Expect a shortage of twin 12V power rails once everyone buys their new X570 and realizes the older single-rack PSUs are no longer viable.

For regular operation you only need the 8-pin connector. The B450 board supports more than 8 pins if needed.

You're fine with your current setup—8 pin CPU connector and a 750 watt power supply. That means you don't need to spend extra around $70 for a new motherboard or processor.

As long as the power supply unit is decent quality, there shouldn’t be any problems. An 8-pin EPS port works well with an AM4 setup that isn’t operating at very high temperatures.

My X470 Crosshair VII comes with both 8-pin and 4-pin connectors, and my power supply also supports them, though I skip using it. The 8-pin offers ample power for the upcoming 12-core model.

An 8-pin 12V cable from a solid PSU (tier B or higher) typically supports about 300 watts. Buildzoid is known for being knowledgeable about overclocking.

Pairing a cooler Master MWE 750W Gold Certified PSU with a Gigabyte AORUS X570 Master for a Ryzen 3900X build could be possible, but you should verify compatibility and power delivery requirements.

on the x570 platform, both eps headers need to be powered to guarantee proper system bus and pci-e controller operation. skipping this causes WHEA errors that are fixed by the 1.0.0.3AB agesa update. This board and the Pro model previously experienced WHEA issues when only the initial eps was connected.

Not every unit includes a 16-pin power port. Only the top models provide an 8-pin connection.

Yes, you can connect the setup. The two 4-pin ports on your power supply can be linked together to form an 8-pin configuration, matching the motherboard's requirements.
