Take note that the iGPU in a desktop Ryzen 7000/9000 model is mainly suited for display purposes. When I used my 7900X, I tried tasks like transcoding and found it to be quite limited, so don’t expect it to manage Plex functions such as QuickSync on any current Intel platform.
I'm keen on the idea that chiplets are using a 3D V-Cache design. Not sure if it'll really help with my tasks (especially when resizing many images at once), but it's good to have. Right now I'm using the 14700K with a Thermalright AXP90 X53 cooler, which isn't great since it doesn’t fit in the case. That’s just a reminder. Also, I’m mostly relying on a ShieldTV for DirectPlay and the LG C1 app for native playback. I usually encode videos myself for space savings, and that’ll likely move to the 14700K as it replaces the 12700F.
Actually, the hybrid 3D V wasn't always a problem unless your tasks needed consistent smooth performance; otherwise, it works fine. Scale really counts, and 7900x3D performs worse than 7950x3D even though both are hybrid.
It's mainly about feeling secure and confident. A larger cache usually brings some advantages, but with my current load it stresses every core and I risk missing out on performance gains. I was planning to keep the 14700k for years, but doubts are growing due to problems, and I haven't been able to update the microcode for a while. To avoid further strain, I reduced the clock speed to 4Ghz.
