These boots and VGA lights aren't working properly.
I just installed this setup and encountered a board error. The PC boots up, fans spin, and the RGB lights work, but nothing appears on the screen. The monitor powers on and identifies an input, yet I can't reach the BIOS. The board displays VGA/Boot errors. The GPU is fine and tested elsewhere. I've replaced the RAM, tried different slots, removed the M.2 slot, shorted the CMOS first, and when that failed, I took out the board battery for 15 minutes. Any idea what might be wrong? I know the PSU is outdated, but the old paperclip test passed.
Check if the CPU has its power connected and verify the GPU's power is also secured.
All connections were secure. Verified all power cables from the PCU to the board. Confirmed I wasn’t mistakenly using a GPU cable instead of an 8-pin CPU cable. The only cables available from the PSU are a 24-pin, an 8-pin CPU, and an 8-pin VGA.
Is this typical? I assumed ATX options were limited to two choices. I'm going to give it a shot.
Do you have an alternative GPU to test? If all connections are secure, it means the GPU functions on another system. A GPU error during boot suggests a faulty motherboard. You might assemble it separately, keeping the CPU, one RAM stick, GPU, and power connectors. Begin by connecting the power pins to eliminate any shorts from the case or panel.
