I've got an ancient 7770 which I did try but got the same thing. Fans spinning, lights on but no boot or post and the board still showing red LEDs for GPU & Boot.

If you used the 1 RAM stick, I’d think the motherboard or CPU might be faulty. You could ask a friend or relative who has a CPU to take a look.

It seems the processor was pulled from an Acer pre-built unit that functioned properly two days prior, suggesting the motherboard might be defective.
