Hey everyone. So I am in the midst of investigating why my pc is underperforming in certain games. I have done a couple of benchmark to see if there is any issue with the gear itself. My Specs: Ryzen 9 3900x @ 1.3V + Lian Li Galahad Asus X370 Pro Prime MB Corsair Vengeance 2x8 @ 3333 mhz MSI RTX 3060 M.2 nvme storage Seasonic Focus GX 750W Here are the benchmark results: 3DMARK Time Spy Geekbench 5 CPU Geekbench 5 GPU CUDA Cinebench: 7128 Are these results up to snuff? I tried comparing them myself but idk if, for example, 1000 points difference from the 3dmark test is a lot of not. Worth mentioning that the cooling is sufficient, having reached max 60C on the GPU and 80C on the CPU in 3rd Mark. Absolutely everything (including bios) is up to date.
Benchmarks often lack real value when assessing problems. You mention specific games underperforming, explaining the differences. By comparison, my Ivy-Bridge dual Xeon achieves 3516 on single core and 23604 on multi-core at GB. Direct GFX card testing isn't possible since I'm using AMD; my score stands at 116,677 in openCL. I can't test TimeSpy, but someone with crossfire WX 7100s (single unit) is close to the same CPU you use. Unless crossfire delivers double performance in TS, it might indicate an issue with your setup, as the WX 7100 feels comparable to a 3GB GTX 1060.
It all began when I tried another PC with Ryzen 5 3600 and 2060, and it significantly improved FPS in CS—like a 100+ fps boost. That prompted me to verify if my system was performing at its intended level. Would you say your GPU is underperforming?
I'm not a gamer, though I usually enjoy simple games like Minecraft. It seems something might be wrong. The main points to know are: OS and version, BIOS level on the motherboard, GPU driver version, full hardware specs, and any programs visible in the system tray at startup, along with CPU and GPU temperatures during idle and load conditions.
GPU Driver version 526.98 is installed on Windows 10 64 bit, latest update available as of November 16. Boot performance is being monitored in two phases—Idle and Under Load—using Open Hardware Monitor. Temperatures are recorded for both phases, with detailed data collected during both idle and load conditions.
I need to reflect on this. Taking a day to consider could help, and others might offer valuable perspectives.
Thanks for reaching out. It's been a tough week figuring things out on my own.
