It seems the 2x might be included because it's a dual fan card.

The price of a 16 GB stick is around 69 dollars, while DDR4 is about 40 dollars. This means it's not double the cost anymore. With AM5 coming soon, prices might drop by 10-20%, and bundles like motherboard plus RAM could become available. So now it's a bit more expensive, but not extremely so—much less than a 3 to 5 times higher price, which would be like switching from a B550 110-125 dollar RAM stick to a high-end X570 699 dollar one.

It seems like you're questioning the need for such high-end CPUs given your current setup. A 3060 Ti might handle most tasks without it, and upgrading to something like a 5700X could save money while still delivering performance. The Ryzen 5000 is surprisingly affordable right now.

It seems to be a Twin-Frozr GPU setup. The older Deepcool AIOs aren't great, and the market is full of new Gigabyte PSUs, though newer models are less common. OlOy relies on budget Hynix parts, which isn't ideal. Everything feels disappointing.

Join the discussion on stock! At this price point, it's near the limit, but pushing the i7 further gives an edge. I've been there too—chose the i7 and ended up ahead.

You're suggesting the i7 isn't as strong as the R9, but if you push it to overclock it could outperform the R9.

I suggest focusing on the key components for optimal results.

Typically the i7 performs better out of the box, but overclocking makes it even faster. For improved efficiency, choosing AMD might be a better option. Either choice should work, and you likely won’t see a noticeable difference in real life.

Consider a Liquid Freezer if you're concerned about past problems with earlier versions (more than five updates). A Galahad is a solid alternative. For RAM, Crucial, Team, or similar brands are reliable. They offer better quality control on the chips compared to Oloy, which struggles with D4. The PSU should match the GPU platform—MSI MPG or Enermax Revo D.F. work well.
