You recently added a new exhaust fan to your PC, but it’s making unusual noises—first a loud pop when it starts, then a persistent clicking sound, and fans that aren’t lighting up even though they’re connected. This could indicate a wiring issue, loose connections, or a faulty fan controller. Check the power supply, ensure all cables are secure, and verify the fan controller is properly installed. If problems persist, inspect the circuit board for damage or incorrect settings.

My fan is connected to the system fan and the RGB is set to JRGB1 (it was told to use the RGB hub). After removing the new fan and restarting the PC, there were no noises or alerts—only silence when the new fan was active.

It's a 12V fan with four connectors, connected to JRGB1 which also has four pins.

It seems you're dealing with Corsair's RGB lighting. It's a custom setup and functions only with their controllers without an adapter. Good to know it shouldn't affect your motherboard.

You might need a fan controller if your system requires precise speed adjustments or advanced features.

Acquire a Corsair Lighting Node or Commander. Hopefully you didn't damage your motherboard or the fan. If anything goes wrong, I'd disconnect it right away and test if the system starts without it. Updated August 26, 2022 by An0maly_76

It looks like your PC is operating normally and no unusual issues are reported. The fan continued to spin, which suggests the cooling system is functioning properly. The RGB lighting issue might be a software or driver problem rather than hardware damage. Checking the settings or updating drivers could help resolve it.
