my configuration includes: a CPU I7-6700K, motherboard MSI Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon, RAM Crucial DDR4 32GB at 2133MHz (two sticks), a gaming GPU MSI GeForce GTX 980, a quiet case, an 1TB HDD with a 240GB SSD, and an XFX 550W PSU rated for 80+ bronze. I disabled the memory overclock, which allows me to play games without it, though overclocking adds 10 to 20 extra frames.

Don't rush to boost your memory's speed yet; focus on discovering the optimal Core Clock setting, perhaps near +150MHz. Ensure you push voltage, power, and temperature limits to their max. This tool can help verify your OC stability: Valley

Consider keeping it in place instead of removing it. Try boosting core by +150 and memory by +250 to check stability.

Don't forget to adjust the core clock to 143 for stability. Most GPUs handle that well. These are the configurations I'm applying right now.

I've been testing the heavens benchmark for roughly 40 minutes without any crashes, even when the core speed is increased to +180.

Begin Witcher 3 and other tough titles right away. Try regular actions to test stability. Watch for crashes or performance drops. This process might take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours. Remember, even if one test tool works well, not all games will perform equally. Avoid overclocking at startup until you're sure it's safe.
