the system is experiencing severe stuttering and poor performance, leading to significant SSD I/O issues.
pc specifications include windows 10 64bit, asrock x470 taichi, ryan zen 7 2700x, rtx 2080, 16gb 3200mhz cl14 gskill samsung bdie, os installed on 128 gb adata ssd, battlefield 5 on a crucial 512gb ssd. I'm experiencing significant microstuttering and extreme freezing—sometimes lasting nearly a second—while playing the game. Processhacker's IO monitoring shows spikes linked to battlefield 5 executable, indicating heavy ssd usage.
I thought 16gb ram would be enough to load a map, models, and other data into memory. The process reports about 5GB RAM usage, which seems sufficient. However, the ssd appears to be failing severely, as if anything appearing on screen isn't in memory and must constantly load from the drive. This is extremely frustrating, especially since I'm not expecting such behavior in a game that doesn't require constant streaming.
I haven't performed any overclocking. The bios is up to date, default settings are applied, the ram xmp profile is loaded, and performance runs at 3200 mhz cl14.
I first noticed this issue while checking my pc case's hdd activity indicator. This behavior is unusual—typically it appears during map loading or transitions, not when the game starts. It's not typical for a large open-world mmorpg where constant streaming is expected.
What should I do? This isn't the only game with this problem, but it's the clearest example. It's really annoying.
Turning on the pre-rendered frames option is better for me than leaving it off, and I only have 1060...
In the Nvidia control panel, attempt to turn it off. You can also disable it for BF5 if needed.
this stuttering problem occurs with DX12, though it seems they resolved it, so i'm unsure. i'm considering reverting to DX11.

It's the official version =)). It actually came with the MSI RX 2080 GPU. But if I were a pirate, would I tell you?
