Hello, your Lan and the Wi-Fi through my new powerline adapter are quite slow. At the 1Gb/s speed I expect, I should see around half a megabyte on my line. It seems like the router itself might not be delivering the full rate either—maybe around 500MB/s at least. Since the router is upstairs and you're downstairs, I suspect the old wiring could be the problem, but moving the adapters closer didn’t really help. I don’t have a clear idea of fixing this through software, even after some research. I’d really appreciate any advice you can offer. Thank you very much.
The effectiveness of powerline adapters relies mainly on the condition and arrangement of your home wiring, something you often cannot alter. Consider switching to another brand—what models are you using now?
It could be quite erratic too. There are times when spikes reach up to 10mb/s before the signal starts to decline again...
This could help with your phones, but I really need a reliable link to my computer—since it doesn’t even have Wi-Fi—and Wi-Fi won’t be able to give me that.
