Consider investing in a dedicated wire then. How much distance do you need? Is it possible to move the modem/router? Can you run a CAT6 cable through the walls? You have choices depending on how urgent the situation is. I just installed a 100ft CAT5 inside my house, because that’s what I did.
I recently put in a 50ft Ethernet connection along with the wall from the second to first floor. (Yes, there are concrete walls). If anyone in the house objects about the appearance, I’ll just wrap it up with cable covers.
It seems your powerlines are old or poorly shielded, making them unsuitable for Ethernet use. If running an Ethernet cable isn't possible either, setting up a mesh network would likely be your best alternative—just connect your PC to one of the mesh APs to establish a physical link.
