I realized the issue is thermal throttling leading to shutdown when the screen goes black. I lowered the power to 50% and now can view weapons without issues, which causes my temperatures to rise. I need some smaller screwdrivers to reach the GPU headsink and apply fresh thermal paste—no more black screens. You’d think you’d service the card before selling it on eBay wouldn’t you? At least I’ve figured out that GPU temps now stay under 65, and I cut power by half while stress testing passed without a crash.
Consider reducing voltage and boosting fan speed. This usually lowers performance impact while keeping temperatures stable.
